Protective fabrics for dog trainers

At our Svitavy plant, we sell selected technical fabrics. Our commercial activity is based on our many years of experience producing woven, dyed and treated fabrics made of cotton, polyester, polyamide and other materials.

We treat customers’ fabrics to protect against mould or make them water resistant or oleophobic. K9 fabric is mainly used for the production of protective clothing and training sleeves for dog trainers, as well as for the production of various training aids. K9 fabric is a high strength fabric, and is made of a mixture of cotton and polyamide, available in a range of colours and in a width of 1.4 m.

Fabric properties

The most important characteristic for the intended use is the high tensile strength and resistance of the fabric to stress. The tensile strength is several times greater than for other clothing fabrics.

Possibilities of use

K9–RINGO protective clothing fabrics are mainly used to make protective work sleeves and protective work overalls for professional dog trainers. In addition, we make a wide variety of training aids and toys that widely used by amateur dog trainers.

What is K9 stand for

K9 is an abbreviation of the word CANINE, since the pronunciation of K9 ("kay nine") sounds the same as the pronunciation of "Canine." This abbreviation was first coined in connection with the use of dogs by the U.S. military during World War II. Nowadays, this abbreviation is worldwide mainly in the field of police, military and rescue cynology (the science dealing with dog training, or those who deal with dogs).

Material of the lining of protective products

K9-RINGO fabric, which forms the top layer of protective products and is exposed to the force of the dog's jaws, must be extremely durable. To protect the trainer from bruising or injury, a cushioning layer (lining) must be incorporated into the protective clothing.

The choice of lining materials and their properties then depend on the specific manufacturer of the protective product. For example, a 5 cm layer of non-woven fabric with a bottom layer of lining can be used.
